Although it now seems like another life time, my earliest entry into the world of acting was through the side door of modeling. I began in the D.C. area but was quickly moved to NYC by my agent, and eventually chosen to move to Milan, Italy at the age of 20. Here are some samples of that long ago time! First Modeling Job: Telephone Co. Calendar Girl. Gee, can you tell I have no idea what the heck that thing is I am holding?

Italian Magazine Cover: Because every highly fashinable woman knows that to be truly classy you need to balance a matching shoe on your purse.

Washingtonian Magazine Cover: The only tattoo I've ever had. If you can call sharpee-art a "tattoo".

First major TV role: as Shelley Franklyn on ABC-TV's "The Edge of Night". I signed a two year contract playing a suicidal ex-movie star. Soap Opera Digest later voted me one of their "most promising newcomers".

Running lines between scenes with Charles Flohe. Dig that groovy crown - I felt like a little girl playing dress up again.

Second major role for TV: when "Edge" went off the air, I was hired at "One Life to Live" by casting director Mary Jo Slater. Again, I signed on for two years, this time in the role of scheming hillbilly Clover Wilde. I adopted a Tennessee accent for this one and enjoyed the perks of Emmy invitations and borrowed designer fashions.
Daytime Emmy Awards (with Andrea Evans)

Last role on a soap opera: "All My Children". This time the role was Francine Potter, a drug-addicted former supermodel. I played the girlfriend of Susan Lucci's brother. I'd had a great run by this time playing three characters on ABC over the course of 5 years.

This character's death scenes, which in typical daytime tradition lasted many days, required an emotional overdose.
My poor mother was terrified the week it aired and called me every day to make sure I was still fine!
